Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Instagram
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
