Edwards as well as O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the initial names in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolves.

Pereira was dismissed on Sunday after the squad's 10-match without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - both of who have historic associations to the team - are among the options to be evaluated by the club leadership.

The manager is presently at Middlesbrough, which would create a potential hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played more than 100 of games for the club during his playing career - is said to be a strong candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys support from the Wolves directors as they begin the process of appointing a new manager.

Gary O'Neil is also appearing as a unexpected candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment given he was sacked by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham United player is out of work meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any compensation.
