New information has come to light concerning the tragic deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had gone with her promptly called 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held without bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Furthermore pushed back against circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement applies to accounts of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
