Indianapolis Colts Face Falcons in Berlin – NFL Week 10

Hello, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Everything good I trust on this excellent morning kickoff to the tenth week coming straight outta Germany. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Indianapolis Colts (7-2) take on the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the national anthem of Germany. Elegant.

Opening Period Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have early drama after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to save his bacon with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a quick pass from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on the Colts' tight end. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they cough the ball back to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and fumbles the football.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. The placekicker misses the point after attempt. Oops.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Additional Tenth Week Matchups

And for afters, the full slate starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Miami Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) New York Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v New England Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. My pick for the best game is Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the top contest of the day.
