The families of teens unaccounted for after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an agonising wait for confirmed information and pleading for any details about their loved ones publicly.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Confirmed video reveal the ceiling catching alight as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have warned that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and hurt another 119. A spokesperson noted on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been identified, with efforts continuing to name the final individuals.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been posting on the internet to request clues about their friends who were present at the venue that night.

Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For
