Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team in the wake of the controversy from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a vital match after making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Team Unity
The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “It's clear there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
