The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
