The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry game that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for delighting in violence and insanity with similar excitement, all while presenting engaging, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose creations have embodied all of those elements.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by introducing a new location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can change from season to season, while always examining the nature of humanity through this intricate and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our shared irreverent, daring sensibility to the audience.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
